Award categories and criteria
- Coach of the Year
This will be presented to an individual who can demonstrate their commitment, success and professional development in coaching sport. - Community Impact of the Year
The panel will consider outcomes for small and large projects that have made a real difference to our community, making the biggest impact. - Community Building of the year
This will be presented to the community building committee, for example, village halls, community centres, church halls etc, who can demonstrate initiative, innovation and outstanding achievement showing good practice in running a community building. It will be a community building which identifies the communities needs, develops a well-balanced programme and actively promotes to their community as a whole. - Community Organisation of the Year
This will be presented to an organisation, which engages and involves members of the community to improve the level of service provision in the area. - Young Disabled Sports Achiever of the Year
This award will be presented to a disabled individual who is under 18 years of age on 31 October 2009, in recognition of their commitment and achievement in their chosen sport. Nominees should have achieved a high standard of performance, for example, at local, regional or national level. Performances between 1 April 2008 and 31 March 2009 are eligible. - Lifetime Achievement Award
The panel will consider hours of dedication, success, level achieved and contribution above and beyond their role.

- Sports Club of the Year
This will be presented to a club, which can demonstrate achievement or success and supports the development of players, coaches and volunteers in the club. The club must be either working towards or has already achieved Clubmark. - Volunteer of the Year
This will be presented to an individual who can demonstrate commitment and contribution in a voluntary capacity in leisure (sport, community and arts). This person can be a coach, official, team manager, committee manager or helper. This is in four categories:
1. Male Sports Community Volunteer of the Year
2. Male Arts/Heritage Volunteer of the Year
3. Female Sports Community Volunteer of the Year
4. Female Arts/Heritage Volunteer of the Year
- Young Male and Female Sports Achiever of the Year
This will be presented to one young girl and one young boy, aged under 18 years of age on 31 October 2010, in recognition of their commitment and achievement in their chosen sport. Nominees should have achieved a high standard of performance, for example, at local, regional or national level. Performances between 1 April 2009 and 31 March 2010 are eligible. 2009 winners are not eligible for nomination. - Young Sports Volunteer of the Year
This will be presented to a young person who is under the age of 18 and has demonstrated commitment and contribution in a voluntary capacity in sport and arts. This person can be a coach, official, team manager, committee manager or helper. - Young Arts/Heritage Volunteer of the Year
This will be presented to an individual who is under the age of 18 and has demonstrated commitment and contribution in a voluntary capacity in arts and/or heritage. - Male or Female Sports Achiever of the Year
This will be presented to a male or female, aged 18 years and over, in recognition of their commitment and achievement in their chosen sport. Nominees should have achieved a high standard of performance, for example, at local, regional or national level. Performances between 1 April 2009 to 31 March 2010 are eligible. - Disabled Sports Achiever of the Year
This will be presented to a disabled individual who is 18 years of age or over, in recognition of their commitment and achievement in their chosen sport. Nominees should have achieved a high standard of performance, for example, local, regional or national level. Performances between 1 April 2009 and 31 March 2010 are eligible.
- Junior Team of the Year
This award will be presented to an Under 18 sports team. School, college or club teams may be entered; all members of the junior team must be under 18 years on 31 October 2010. Team performances and achievements between 1 April 2009 and 31 March 2010 are eligible.
- Senior Team of the Year
This award will be presented to a senior sports team. School, college and club teams may be entered, all team members must be 18 years or over. Team achievements and performances between 1 April 2009 and 31 March 2010 are eligible. - Young Arts/Heritage Achiever of the Year
This will be presented to a disabled individual aged under 18 years old on 31 October 2010. This award will be recognition of their commitment and achievement in their chosen art form. Performances or work produced between 1 April 2009 and 31 March 2010 will be considered. - Young Disabled Arts/Heritage Achiever of the Year
This will be presented to a disabled individual aged under 18 years old on 31 October 2010. This award will be recognition of their commitment and achievement in their chosen art form. Performances or work produced between 1 April 2009 and 31 March 2010 will be considered. - Arts or Heritage Volunteer of the Year
This will be presented to an individual who is under the age of 18 and has demonstrated commitment and contribution in a voluntary capacity in arts and/or heritage. - Art Workshop Leader of the Year
This will be awarded to an individual who can demonstrate their commitment, success and professional development in leading workshops for adults or children in their chosen art form. To be nominated for this award the leader must deliver within the North Lincolnshire area.
- Young Disabled Volunteer of the Year
This will be presented to a disabled individual, aged 11 to 21, who can demonstrate commitment and contribution in a voluntary capacity in sports, arts or heritage.
- V Award for Personal Development in Volunteering
Nominate a young person age 16 – 25 years who you feel has developed personally through volunteering, such as increased confidence and self esteem. - V Award for Professional Development in Volunteering
Nominate a young person age 16 – 25 years who you feel has developed professionally through volunteering, such as improved skills and knowledge. - V Award for Youth Led Volunteer Project of the Year
Nominate a group of young people (2 or more) age 16 – 25 years who have developed and run their own volunteering project. This must be a project that can demonstrate how it benefits the volunteers themselves and others.
